A few weeks ago we got some very heavy rain around my area from what was left over from Hurricane Idea. The storm flooded a bunch of places, created some damage, washed out a few roads, and messed things up a bit. Here, now that the storm is gone, the old Union Canal has water in it again. Normally, this old Canal is fairly dry and does not have much water in it. This will dry up as times go on, and it’s back to normal.

Noticed that once again the old Canal has some life in it. These turtles were out sunning themselves when I walked by. Did not have my 300mm Lens with me.

This is one of the Historic plaques that are next to the old Canal. It tells of what used to be there long ago.

I noticed this old home not far from the Canal. You can tell it was built long ago by the stone color. The Schuylkill River is right across the street from this home. The water came right up to the front yard here, but spared the home. There was a large tree down across the electric wires, so the home probably had no power then. It since has been repaired. The water left large amounts of mud & debris in the road. Could not drive the car around it. It too has been cleared away. I also found something odd. Normally old homes like this have a cement plaque up close to the top of the roof that will have a date on it. There was nothing I could see. Probably built in the 1800’s sometime.
Thanks for reading.
