GHOST BIKE

Ghost Bike

While I’m driving around from one place to another in my car, I’m always on the look for photogenic opportunities that may interest me. Most of the time, I don’t have my Nikon or Pentax camera with me, so I use my Cell Phone camera to capture something I see.

While driving down to a Bike Trail, I happen to notice this “Ghost Bike” on a small side road off to my left. For the 1st time, I have now seen one of these that I’ve read about here on WP. Most of you know that this is a memorial to someone who lost their Life at this spot. There is a name written on the center support bar that says “Kelly” 2017.

What actually happened, I don’t know. I am to assume that she died close to RT724 at the intersection. RT724 can be a very busy 2-lane road, at times. I’ve driven up & down the road many times, and never saw this before.

After I took this Image, I stood there and said a silent prayer for the girl who died here. Since I have started doing some bike riding I am always very cautious and well aware of what can happen. I do wear bright day-glow Yellow shoes, shirt, gloves, and vest so their is no reason for motorists to say “I didn’t see him!” For those of you that ride a bicycle, please be careful out there! There are drivers that just don’t pay attention.

May you Rest in Peace, Kelly.

Thanks for stopping by.

I am 75 yrs. young and now retired. I worked in the Machinist Trade for 24 yrs. Served in the US Navy with a Tour of Duty in Vietnam. Being retired I do enjoy Photography with my Nikon and Pentax Camera's, snooping around in Historic and Abandoned places, using my Scroll Saw, Reading, Travel, riding a bicycle on the many Trails that are around my area, and what-ever else will interest me at the time. Come with me and see where I go, where I have been, and my Life surviving Retirement.
