PHOTOGRAPHING WATERFALLS IN PA

Shahola Waterfalls

Since I have pretty much photographed the Falls that are located here in my area, I’m looking to head North of here to where most of the best waterfalls are located.

There are many, many Falls here in PA. Most all of them are up in the Pocono Region of PA that is about a good 2 hr. drive away for me or a bit more. In my past I have seen Dingman Falls & Bushkill Falls, and both of them are very nice to see. However, I would like to photograph some of the other ones that are just a bit further North.

There are some reservations I have on doing this. Driving up there is one of them. With all the “not so good” drivers out there I have a problem worrying about them. I’m a darn good driver, if I must say so. I have never in my driving Life had a accident that was my fault. I’ve never been in a accident at all! There are some people out there that are really bad. I just seem to be a driver that knows what I’m doing. I should by now.

Going up to these Falls alone is another one. Pretty much of every place I go to photograph things, I have to do alone. I sorta get tired of doing this. No one else has the interest in them as I do. It would be nice to have someone go along to talk with, instead of having a radio as my co-pilot. To be frank, I’m getting sort of used to it. Not much else I can do right now.

Now, that I’ve learned just how to shoot moving water to get that “Silky Effect” I want to shoot some of these places and see how good I can be. Before, trying to photograph moving water, I kept messin’ the shots up because I didn’t know the right settings. Now, I think that I do.

The above Image is NOT my picture. It’s what the Falls look like. I also would like to get there before the color of the forest is gone for the Winter. I’ve read that it gets so pretty up there in the Fall.

Thanks for reading.

Come with me and see where I go, where I have been, and my Life surviving Retirement.
