WATER FALLS

Antietam Lake Falls

Something that I don’t have much experience in doing is photographing waterfalls to get a “Silky Effect” like I have seen many times. I have wondered just how this is done, so I did some research about it. I read a few articles and copied down what to do and how to do it.

The 1st time I went out, I forgot my notes and was not interested in driving back home to get them, so I figured I’d try and remember what I was told. Well, that didn’t work out so well. I just could not remember what settings to use, even after trying it a number of times. It seems that me getting older, my memory fails me at times.

Ok, so the next day I tried again. This time I didn’t forget my notes! Set the camera up and pressed the button. It worked!! The above Image is the first one I took. Just one thing though, I did forget my Remote Shutter Trigger. Bah!

Running water

Here I’m not too pleased with this. It’s a bit blurry. Must remember my Remote Shutter!

Silky Water.

This one is a bit better, but still needs some practice.

Water

While photographing these, I always seem to have a small problem with my Bladder. I had to pee real bad, and there was really no place to relive myself. Thank goodness there are many bushes & trees around. I solved the problem.

Thanks for stopping by.

I am 75 yrs. young and now retired. I worked in the Machinist Trade for 24 yrs. Served in the US Navy with a Tour of Duty in Vietnam. Being retired I do enjoy Photography with my Nikon and Pentax Camera's, snooping around in Historic and Abandoned places, using my Scroll Saw, Reading, Travel, riding a bicycle on the many Trails that are around my area, and what-ever else will interest me at the time. Come with me and see where I go, where I have been, and my Life surviving Retirement.

    1. Maybe all that rushing water started it all! Thank you for your comment. I am trying to get those kind of photos look better.
