COMPUTER MONITOR

20171118_102929

About 4 months ago, I had bought this computer monitor from my Brother at a “side walk sale” for $20.00.  He had used it for awhile but then decided to get rid of it because he got something newer.  I decided to buy it from him!

This is a Flatron 24″ Full HD LG Monitor.  I originally had in mind to use this as a game monitor but found out it’s not for use with a Playstation 2 set up.  It just does not have the input for a Playstation, that I know of.  So, then I found out that I can use this Monitor with my Laptop and have a bigger screen to view.  But, first I have to get the right connections.  This I knew nothing about.

Starting asking questions on how to do this, and found out that I have to get a connector that plug’s into your Laptop (HDMI) to VGNA(?).  I went to my favorite place to order things and found what I needed, after searching for days.  I just was not sure on what to get and what was the best.

My order arrived in just a few days.  Hoping like heck that I ordered the right thing, I plugged it into my Laptop and then into the plug for this Flatron.  It worked!!  I could not believe it!  I did something right!

Now, I have 2 screens to view, but I don’t have to.  Found out that I can shut off the Laptop screen, and just use the Flatron Monitor like I’m doing right now.  The screen on the 24″ is much brighter, but a bit on the fuzzy side.  Not sure how to fix that yet.  It comes in handy for viewing my Images from the camera and editing them.  There is another small problem.  I can’t get sound to come out of the Flatron because the HDMI Cable does not transfer sound.  That’s ok.  Why would I want sound out of 2 screens?  I’ll just use one.
