I have often passed by this stone wall with what appears to be some kind of drain from where the Schuylkill Canal used to be. The trail behind this was the Towpath, but now a walking trail.
I stood here wondering just what this was at one time. Why is it here? There must have been a good reason why it is left there for over 200 yrs. The drain is a bit deep. A good 3 feet deep, it looks like. It extends down into what used to be a holding pond for the canal boats. The problem is that it ends here. Where did the water go? Why the Stone Wall? Must find out what this really is and what is was for.
Thanks for visiting.
